Body Insights shows Burnout Risk as a 0 to 100 Burnout Risk Index with a status, a recommendation, and a 28-day trend. It tracks lasting changes in your recovery history, so one difficult day does not define the result.

What your Burnout Risk Index shows

The main card pairs your number with a status: Excellent, Stable, Warning, High Risk, Critical, Recovering, or Insufficient history.

Open the detail view to see:

  1. Burnout Risk Index

Your current score from 0 to 100

  2. HRV change

The direction of your 28-day HRV pattern

  3. 7-Day Debt

Your recent sleep debt in hours

  4. Recovery

The number of recovery nights in the current 28-day view

  5. 28-Day Trends

The recent direction of your saved Burnout Risk results

  6. Recovery Protocol

Status-based actions when the app has a recommendation

How to use Burnout Risk

Start with the status. Then check HRV change, 7-Day Debt, and Recovery. Use these details to compare the score with your recent recovery patterns. Open 28-Day Trends to see whether the index is moving up or down.

What changes the 28-day result?

Apple Watch records heart and sleep measurements. Apple Health stores the available records. Body Insights reads those records and calculates Burnout Risk from:

  • HRV direction and personal percentile context
  • Resting heart rate direction and personal percentile context
  • Sleep debt across recent history
  • Recovery-night frequency
  • Available waking recovery status
  • How quickly recent Burnout Risk results are changing

The index recalculates when Body Insights refreshes your health data and saves the latest result for that day.

When history is still building

When there is no current result, the sheet shows No Data Available. A new history can show Insufficient history while Body Insights builds a more stable record. The 28-Day Trends chart appears after a few days of saved results.

Keep wearing your watch as usual. Body Insights updates the index as new Apple Health records become available.
